MISHICOT - A dedication of a tree in front of Mishicot High School is planned for this weekend as a memorial to Dillon Mueller, an 18-year-old who died in 2014 as a result of anaphylactic shock caused by a bee sting.

George and Angel Mueller stand outside their home with a Dillon Mueller Safe Business Award.

His mother, Angel Mueller, said she and her family donated the tree a while ago. The dedication will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, in front of the high school building.

Since Dillon’s death, Angel and her husband, George Mueller, have dedicated themselves to promoting more availability of epinephrine, particularly in local businesses. They honor local businesses whose owners or representatives have completed training to administer epinephrine and have doses available on site in case of an emergency by giving them the Dillon Mueller Safe Business Award.

The Muellers have also created a Dillon Mueller Memorial Fund, through which they have helped the Mishicot Area Ambulance Service, Maribel First Responders, Frances Creek First Responders, Mishicot Police Department and Mishicot Youth Sports in purchasing epinephrine auto-injectors.

Information about the Dillon Mueller Memorial Fund can be found at www.epifordilly.com. Contributions for the fund can also be mailed to the Mueller’s Farm at 2205 E. County Hwy. V, Mishicot, WI 54228.
